Hippocampus Background

The Hippocampus group operates education centres in rural India with a vision to provide learning opportunities for the children of under-served communities. These communities are typically under served by the relevant government authorities and the Hippocampus learning centres provide pre-school programmes for children between the ages of 3 and 6, within the confines of existing villages.

Bay Diligence Support

Bay Diligence has supported 5 centres in the Mandya district of Karnataka. These centres provide quality pre-school learning and life skills for 117 children.


Hippocampus’s reach and impact

  • 129 centres currently operational, impacting 3000 children; 5000+ children served cumulatively since inception
  • 200+ local women have been provided livelihood opportunities by being employed as teachers in these centres
